Spanish trade fair displays the latest in ceramic tile production

The Cevisama tile fair in Valencia, Spain, recently and showcased a wide range of innovative ceramic tile designs produced by some of Spain’s leading tile manufacturing firms.

Just a few months after the devastating effects of the DANA floods, the historic city of Valencia hosted the prestigious tile fair from the 23rd to 27th February, hosting some 70,000 attendees from around the world,

Highlighting some of the biggest ongoing trends in the industry, the mimicking of natural forms such as stone and wood was shown to be continuing to dominate custom ceramic tile design. Advances in printing and glazing technology have made it possible to imitate these natural forms with ever greater veracity and aesthetic appeal.

Apavisa’s Erosion range was one of the prominent designs on display at this year’s fair. Available in white, blue and graphite colours, it mimics naturally eroded stone, making use of up-to-date glazing and printing technologies to achieve a realistic effect.

Another new design on show at the fair was Nautcer’s floor tile, NATUR 2.0 Transit. This is an extruded porcelain tile developed to withstand heavy floor traffic in public places such as subways and walkways. With a thickness of 20mm, it is very resistant to adverse weather conditions and abrasion, and has a high anti-slip rating to ensure public safety.
