We’ve recently partnered with Art4Space, based in London, to design and produce a heart-felt mosaic mural for former Oasisplay charity member, David Ogwe, who sadly passed away in January 2021.
Julie Norburn, Executive Director and Founder of Art4Space had known David for over 20 years and after his passing, approached us to design and install the stunning mosaic mural in his memory.
The mural, which was unveiled in front of 300 people, is now on display in Lambeth, where David shared many memories with his family and was a valued member of his local community.
David had four children, who submitted their favourite photo of him and to ensure the best outcome for the mural, we helped correct the photo quality. The grout lines also had to be considered across his face, which we helped with to make sure that the photo was positioned thoughtfully.
Julie shared: “It was an absolute honour to remember David in this way and give something back to him and his family for his many years of service. I had the pleasure of working with David for the best part of 20 years and he was certainly the most caring soul I’ve ever met.
“He never turned any young person away and changed lives for the better! I speak on behalf of the entire team when I say that David is and will always be dearly missed. We hope that his mural will help bring some peace to David’s family, friends and colleagues.
“Mark and the Digital Ceramics Custom Tiles team were efficient, extremely caring and went above and beyond to make sure David’s mural was perfect for the unveiling.
“I cannot thank them enough for bringing our vision to life, and for their help in creating a space dedicated to remembering David.”
