We’re proud to have worked with London-based Grapes Design, who produced modern cosmopolitan artwork to showcase at the Leeds and Birmingham Dirty Martini bars.
Grapes Design, who specialise in designing cultural spaces for bars and restaurants across the country, approached Digital Ceramics Custom Tiles to produce a large-scale bespoke ceramic tile mural of printed contemporary artwork.
We broke each image down into the individual tile sizes of 200x100mm and printed them onto waterslide transfer paper. The designs were hand-applied to the surface on the specified tile, kiln fired at over 800 degrees celsius and melted into the glaze surface for a permanent solution.
Director of Grapes Design, Darren Grape said: “We were approached by the founder and owner of Dirty Martini UK, CG restaurant with the concept of adding an elegant unique touch to the Leeds and Birmingham Dirty Martini bars. Of course, we jumped at the opportunity to display our own artwork at one of the UK’s most classy and popular cocktail bars!
“I knew we were going to add more than just sophisticated touches of leather, copper and marble. To make these bars really stand out from others, we knew that we’d have to pull something spectacular out of the bag, which is why I reached out to Digital Ceramics Custom Tiles.
“Mark and the team really helped us put our own stamp on the venues from the start. Each image we supplied was transferred onto ceramic tiles, kiln fired and installed with no issues. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and the artwork looks stunning in place for all guests to admire!”
